About These Terms of Service
These terms of service (“terms”) govern your use of stanleylewisplumbing.com (the “Site”), operated by Stanley Lewis Plumbing & Heating Corp. (“Stanley Lewis,” “we,” “us”). By using the Site, requesting a quote, or scheduling service through it, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
These terms cover use of the Site itself. Your estimate, work order, or service agreement governs the specific plumbing, heating, gas, or related work we perform — not this page.
Who We Are
Stanley Lewis Plumbing & Heating Corp. has been based in Brooklyn since 1973. We’re a NYC Licensed Master Plumber (#2296) and hold an NYC H.I.C. license (#1107759). You can confirm license status directly with the NYC Department of Buildings.
Services We Provide
We offer plumbing, heating, gas, sewer and drain, backflow prevention, fire sprinkler, Local Law 152 gas piping inspections, mini split and smart home installation, and related contracting services in Brooklyn and the surrounding area, described in more detail on our gas services page. We don’t offer 24/7 emergency service; we schedule requests involving urgent situations the same way as any other service call, based on availability.
Requesting a Quote
Quote requests you submit through the Site are estimates based on the information you provide. We confirm a final price after we’ve assessed the job in person, and it may change if the scope of work changes once we’re on site.
Scheduling and Site Access
When you schedule service, you agree to provide reasonable access to the work area at the agreed time. If access isn’t available and we’re unable to reach the property, a missed-appointment or rescheduling fee may apply, as your service agreement describes.
Payment Terms
Your estimate or work order sets out payment terms, deposits, and accepted payment methods at the time of scheduling. You owe any amount not covered by that agreement in full upon completion of the work.
Warranties
We state any warranty on labor or materials in writing on your specific work order or invoice. The manufacturer handles warranties on equipment and parts separately, under its own terms. We don’t make warranty commitments through this Site beyond what we confirm in writing for your job.
Licensing and Permits
Where the work requires a permit, we file it as the licensed contractor of record, except where the law assigns that responsibility to the property owner — for example, the GPS2 filing under Local Law 152, which the building owner files, not us.
Your Responsibilities Under These Terms of Service
You agree to provide accurate information about your property and the work needed, obtain any approvals your landlord, co-op board, or condo association requires before we begin work, and tell us about known hazards — gas leaks, structural issues, prior unpermitted work — before the job starts.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Stanley Lewis Plumbing & Heating Corp. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Site. Nothing in these terms limits any liability New York law does not allow us to limit, including liability for our own negligence in performing licensed work.
Intellectual Property
Content on the Site — text, photos, and graphics — belongs to Stanley Lewis Plumbing & Heating Corp. unless otherwise noted. You may not copy or reuse it without permission.
Governing Law for These Terms of Service
The laws of the State of New York govern these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or use of the Site is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Kings County, New York.
Changes to These Terms of Service
We may update these terms of service as our practices or services change. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
