Who's allowed to work on gas lines in NYC?
Only a licensed master plumber can legally work on gas lines in NYC.
All gas work — lines, meters, and connected appliances — requires a permit from the NYC Department of Buildings. Stanley Lewis Plumbing and Heating technicians are either Full Gas Work Qualified or Limited Gas Work Qualified, and our Master Plumber is both a NYC Licensed Master Plumber (#2296) and US Department of Transportation Operator qualified in Covered Tasks 86 & 87A.
